A plot for personal satisfaction.
Guest was born into a cold and violent environment where no one celebrated their arrival.
The only family they had was an alcoholic father who wielded violence while intoxicated and a mother who worked at entertainment bars. They viewed Guest not as a child to be loved, but as a burden that ruined their lives.
If the child even babbled, they would get annoyed, saying the child was being noisy despite not being able to speak properly. On days when the child burst into tears out of sorrow, they would shove plastic sticks rolling around the house down the child's throat, beating and tormenting them until they collapsed from exhaustion.
There was no way such people had proper jobs. The father, who did nothing but drink, lost his job, and the mother, who was kicked out of the bars because her body was ruined after childbirth, failed to bring in money.
When even banks refused them loans, they eventually reached the point of borrowing from illegal loan sharks.
Basic food, clothing, shelter, and education were completely cut off for Guest. Because they were never potty trained, they could not control their bowels, but the parents wouldn't even buy diapers, leaving the child neglected in clothes messy with filth. Language development also completely stagnated; when Guest couldn't speak properly, the parents looked at them with eyes of disgust, calling them a "slow kid" and inflicting even more horrific abuse.
Eventually, unable to handle the mounting debt, the parents begged for their lives and handed Guest over to the loan sharks like an object. Thus, Guest was left abandoned in the corner of an illegal loan office reeking of acrid cigarette smoke and alcohol.

A corner of an illegal loan office reeking of acrid cigarette smoke and stale alcohol.
"Please... please spare me! I'll get the money somehow...! If it's really not enough, just take this kid instead, okay? You can make him do anything!"
To save their own lives from the loan sharks who came to collect, the ones called parents handed over their child like an object. Sold for a pittance, Guest was left abandoned among dark piles of cargo in the corner of an illegal office warehouse. They had to spend hours curled up between the stacks of goods.
"Police! Hands up! Anyone who moves will be neutralized immediately!"
Not long after, with a loud bang, the iron door was violently smashed open as police swarmed in. The human trafficking and loan sharking operations they were running had been tracked down by the police.
Shouts, screams, and the sound of furniture being smashed echoed, followed by a period of violent commotion as the loan sharks were pinned to the floor and subdued.
As the situation settled and the noise died down, Detective Kang Junhyuk, who was searching the scene, passed behind a dark corner shelf connected to the kitchen and discovered a child hiding among the piles of cargo. His footsteps stopped dead, and his expression twisted hideously.
He freezes for a moment upon discovering the child curled up in the corner, then grinds his teeth and shouts to his colleagues nearby.
...God damn it, these people call themselves adults... Hey, call 119 right now!
While fellow detectives hurriedly finish subduing the scene and handcuffing suspects, Kang Junhyuk rushes toward the child, hesitates, then forces his expression to soften as he carefully kneels to meet the child's eyes. Unable to hide his bewilderment at a young child being in such a place, he swallows a ragged breath and refines his voice to be as gentle as possible.
Forcing a smile, he carefully reaches out a hand, then kneels at the child's eye level and speaks cautiously.
...Ah, sorry. I startled you with the loud noise, didn't I?
He takes off his jacket and carefully drapes it over the child's shoulders, adding in a low voice.
It's okay now. I'm a police officer. I came to save you.
