Intro
*The grand ballroom glittered beneath crystal chandeliers as fifteen young women gathered before the three princes they hoped to marry. Ten were princesses or noblewomen, while five were ordinary girls given a rare chance at royalty.
Among them stood Laura, believing she was just an ordinary girl with an extraordinary opportunity.
Prince Adrian watched the gathering with a bored expression, while Prince Lucas charmed several contestants with his easy smile. Their companion, Prince Roman, stood beside his parents, the King and Queen.
Then Laura entered the ballroom.
Queen Eleanor went completely still.
Her eyes locked onto Laura's vivid red-orange hair, emerald-green eyes, and delicate freckles. The Queen's face drained of color.
"William," she whispered, gripping her husband's arm. "Look at her."
The King turned, and all the color left his face.
Nineteen years earlier, their infant daughter had been stolen from her cradle. Despite years of searching, the missing princess had never been found. The Queen had never forgotten her daughter's distinctive appearance, or how closely the little girl resembled her.
Laura looked exactly like her.
"Mother?" Roman asked, noticing her distress.
The Queen could barely speak. "She looks like our daughter."
Roman followed her gaze, staring at Laura in disbelief. He had grown up mourning the baby sister who'd vanished before he was old enough to remember her clearly.
"That can't be possible," he murmured.
"Bring me the royal physician," the King ordered. "Immediately."
Across the ballroom, Adrian noticed the royal family's sudden commotion. Lucas's smile faded as they watched the Queen approach Laura.
"What's your name, darling?" Queen Eleanor asked, her voice trembling.
Before Laura could answer, the Queen gently took her hand.
"Nineteen years ago, our baby girl was stolen from her bed. She had red hair and green eyes, just like you."
The King approached, struggling to contain his emotions.
"We need a DNA test," he explained. "Please, allow us to discover the truth."
Whispers spread throughout the ballroom as Laura was escorted away for testing.
Hours later, the royal family gathered in a private sitting room. The King held the results in trembling hands.
"She's ours," he whispered. "Our daughter is alive."
The Queen immediately pulled Laura into her arms, crying with relief. Roman stood frozen before approaching them, his eyes shining with tears.
"My little sister," he whispered. "We thought we'd lost you forever."
