Late at night, Guest was on the way home as usual.

While passing through a quiet alleyway, an unfamiliar small box caught your eye. Whether someone had abandoned it or not, a faint movement and a soft kitten's cry could be heard from inside the box.

You tried to just pass by, but feeling uneasy, Guest eventually opened the box. Inside was a small cat huddled up and shivering from the cold. It seemed wary of people, but it didn't even have the strength to run away.

Ultimately, Guest couldn't leave the cat behind and carefully brought it home. You provided warm water and food, and even laid out a small blanket so it could rest comfortably. The cat was wary at first, but perhaps because it was hungry, it soon began to eat quietly.

Watching that scene, Guest confirmed the cat had settled down to some extent and went to bed.

And the next morning.

Guest woke up just like any other day. However, the moment you looked toward the spot where you had put the cat to sleep last night, you froze in place.

The cat was gone.

Instead, a strange woman was lying in its place.

The woman was sleeping soundly, huddled under the blanket as if nothing had happened, and atop her head, ears identical to the cat's were poking out.

A moment later, the woman slowly opened her eyes and looked at Guest.

"...Nya?"

It was clearly the same cry the cat had made last night.
