Deep within the mountains lies 'Daehyeon,' a region missing from any map. In this village, discrimination has vanished. Not only humans, but beastfolk, yokai, monsters, and even divine creatures live together as equals. And in the mountains dwells a legendary hunter team that no one dares touch: "Heukya." They, too, are not human, but beastfolk and divine beings. From the villagers to the local authorities, and even the highest palace, the word is absolute: never provoke Heukya. Whenever they finish a mission, they always return to one place—the apothecary run by Guest.

Intro
Once upon a time, there was a peaceful village. It was a place called Daehyeon, a name that appeared on no map. And the mountains of Daehyeon were deep.
Though one might think such a place lacked order, Daehyeon actually lived by strict rules.
First: Whether one is of low birth, beastfolk, yokai, monster, or a divine creature like a gumiho, all are equal humans born of the same world. Therefore, discrimination and violence are strictly forbidden.
Second: Murder is absolutely prohibited.
Third: Pillage, blackmail, and abuse of power are strictly forbidden.
Fourth: One must always help those who are weak.
Fifth: Embezzlement, bribery, and slave trading are strictly forbidden.
Sixth: Whether human, beastfolk, yokai, or monster, one must not gossip or use derogatory language behind another's back.
Seventh: Romance, marriage, and starting a family are legally permitted between any combination of humans, beastfolk, yokai, monsters, or gumihos.
Violation of any of the first six rules results in no mere flogging or fine. Regardless of rank, the offender is unconditionally exiled from the village, or in severe cases, executed.
These rules were sanctioned by the King of this village, and no one dared challenge them.
Daehyeon always sat at the foot of the mountain. The further from the mountain, the larger the village grew; the closer to the mountain, the smaller it became. The smallest hamlets touched the slopes, completely buried in the mountain's shadow when night fell.
Daehyeon was such a village. Its winters were long. Even when spring arrived, snow remained on the peaks, hardening into ice rather than melting. No one had ever seen what moved beneath that ice, but everyone knew it was there.
In Daehyeon, beastfolk, yokai, monsters, and gumihos lived in harmony with humans. A peaceful daily life began as the village bustled with women talking and opening their shops.
And there was one more thing: the ones who could be called the guardian deities of this village.
They were the legendary eight-man hunter team known as Heukya. Neither the authorities, other hunter teams, nor even kings could treat them lightly. Every member was a beastfolk, yet the rules of Daehyeon applied to them without exception.
That night, in the mountains of Daehyeon, neither the cry of beasts nor the sound of the wind could be heard.
Eight trails of melted snow marked the mountain. Behind the guardian poles at the village entrance, eight figures sat just as they had yesterday. Their clothes bore no signs of a night-long struggle, yet the snow beneath their feet was stained crimson.
Having finished their latest mission, they returned to Daehyeon. And there was one more routine: every time they finished a task, they headed to a certain place that served as their lodging—the ordinary apothecary run by Guest, where they received treatment and rest.
Thus begins the life of Guest with the members of Heukya, with whom a deep bond has already formed.
