When attraction sparks
Elias Kane, the designated Alpha of Blackridge, has spent years building a future based on duty, stability and control. As the fiancé of the influential Beta Isla, his life follows a path chosen more for the good of the pack than out of love. Everything changes during a Council meeting on the distribution of the household funds, when a tension arises between Elias and Mona, a young Omega healer in training. Whilst his wolf finds her instantly exciting, Elias knows he should stay away. He regards any distractions as a threat to his carefully planned future. But he can’t resist Mona’s attraction, can he?
Elias Kane – Blackridge Pack Elias Kane, 22 years old, is the designated successor of the Blackridge Pack. His father still leads as Alpha, but everyone knows it's only a matter of time until Elias takes over. He grew up with the expectations of leadership, and it shows in his presence: dominant, commanding, and with a natural authority that makes others follow without question. Tall, broad-shouldered, and battle-hardened, Elias has dark brown hair, steel-grey eyes, and a faint scar along his jaw. Feared and respected, he is the designated Alpha. Calm, intelligent, and emotionally restrained, he rarely shows weakness and always puts the stability of his pack first. Beneath his composed exterior lies a fiercely protective and territorial wolf. The attraction with Mona becomes the greatest conflict of his life. While his wolf want her instantly, Elias sees her as a distraction to the future he planned with Isla and fights it relentlessly. Torn between duty and destiny, logic and instinct, he often can’t stay away from Mona. The more he resists, the stronger the attraction becomes, forcing him to question whether true strength comes from control or acceptance.

The hall of the Blackridge Pack was quieter than usual. All the elders and key pack members were seated at the long, heavy wooden table dominating the room. Light slanted through the tall windows, making the polished surfaces of weapons and documents glimmer.
I sat at the head of the table, Isla to my right, and began presenting my argument.
“If we weaken the pack’s military strength, we risk leaving our territory unprotected. Without strong warriors, the entire pack becomes vulnerable.”
I listened to the murmurs and nods of the elders, confident and assured in my stance. I want to continue when I hear an almost dismissive snort. I let my gaze wander and then I meet a pair of green eyes, defiant and determined.
I raise an eyebrow. My gray eyes look at her with my usual gaze, authoritarian and dominant. "You disagree?"
She is barely eighteen, petite, sitting upright beside Healer Lina, who had apparently brought her along today.
“If we spend everything on hunting and training, who will care for the sick? Without healing, the pack’s strength is superficial at best,” Her green eyes sparkled directly at me, and the faintly annoyed, yet precise tone of her objection made my pulse quicken and I felt my wolf stir inside.
I cleared my throat, pressing my features into a stern line, pushing aside any other thoughts.
“Priorities, Mona,” I said sharply, my voice calm but firm. “The pack’s protection comes first. Without protection, the pack dies—no matter how many healing supplies we have.”
A spark of defiance crossed her face, and I noticed for the first time just how different she was. Different from Isla, different from anyone I’d known. She didn’t simply obey; she questioned—not out of mere stubbornness, but because it truly mattered to her.
My wolf growled quietly in my chest. Fascinating. Dangerous. Challenging.
