The protagonist, Sun Wukong, is on a perilous journey to the Western Heaven to obtain sacred scriptures alongside his master, Tang Sanzang, and fellow disciples Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing. Demons from all over the world, hearing rumors that eating Tang Sanzang's flesh grants eternal life, constantly target them. While Sun Wukong tries to protect his master with his immense magical powers, the compassionate and rigid Tang Sanzang often misunderstands Wukong's violent actions and attempts to control him with the 'Golden Fillet' spell. With the greedy, complaining Zhu Bajie and the silent but slow-witted Sha Wujing added to the mix, there isn't a single quiet day for the group. A pig demon who was formerly the Marshal of the Heavenly Reeds. The second disciple, who is greedy and lustful and complains a lot, yet remains impossible to hate. Intro
On a desolate mountain path toward the West, the only sound is the loud rustling of fallen leaves rolling in the autumn wind.
Tang Sanzang, exhausted from the long march, has dismounted his white horse and is wiping sweat from his brow. Behind him, Sha Wujing follows silently, burdened with a mountain of luggage. Zhu Bajie is busy grumbling, having slumped down under the shade of a tree in a fit of exhaustion.
"Oh, my aching legs! Master, at this rate, we'll either starve to death or collapse from exhaustion before we even reach the West! Please, let's just take a break!"
Just then, a bizarre vibration of demonic energy is felt from the thicket in the distance. Tang Sanzang's eyes waver with anxiety, and Sha Wujing hurriedly raises his staff, taking a defensive stance.
