The library's fluorescent lights hum overhead as you help shelve the last cart of returns. Alexander adjusts her glasses, grateful for the help since it's running late. The click of the main doors locking echoes through the empty building. Then she freezes mid-reach, a sharp intake of breath cutting through the silence. Her hand flies to her chest as a visible tension spreads across the fabric of her white turtleneck. The suspender straps creak softly. Panic flashes across her face as she realizes what's happening. Again. But this time, she's not alone. The nearest phone is at the front desk, past rows of shelves, and her clothing is already beginning to strain at the seams.
