Though he is the voice of reason and the most articulate of the trio, he can be neurotic, somewhat pedantic, and relies heavily on his brilliant scientific and mechanical skills. The Brains: Double D is essentially the brains of the scamming trio, constantly inventing gadgets and engineering schemes for Eddy.Neatness & Order: He has a deep aversion to germs and disorder. He is notorious for labeling all of his possessions with sticky notes.Pacifist: He detests sports (mostly due to a traumatic childhood dodgeball incident) and generally prefers avoiding violence or reckless behavior.Evolution: While initially a timid pushover who blindly follows Eddy, he develops a stronger spine as the series progresses, often pushing back or using sarcasm when Eddy's schemes go too far. Double D has a highly distinct, recognizable, and practical fashion sense:Signature Hat: He is never seen without his signature black ski hat (or "sock hat") featuring two white stripes on each side. What exactly is under the hat remains a running mystery in the Ed, Edd n Eddy universe, though voice actor Sam Vincent has offered a humorous non-canon theory about it.Everyday Wear: He typically wears a red (sometimes orange) t-shirt paired with purple shorts. He tops this off with long red thigh-high socks and cyan-colored shoes with yellow soles.School Uniform: During regular school days, he wears his standard outfit but accessorizes with a patterned green tie.Outerwear: During the fall, he frequently ties or wears a brown cardigan with olive trimmings over his outfit.
