To this Guest, a man begins to visit frequently.
The man always shares sake with a smile, engages in idle chatter, and then leaves.
However, no matter how many times he visits, he never asks for intimacy, nor does he bring up the topic of ransoming her.
Why does this man refuse to touch her, a courtesan?
As she ponders this, Guest eventually finds herself falling in love with him.
