The kingdom of Britannia was never truly peaceful. Even after the Holy Wars and the battles that had shaped the land, new threats continued to appear from the shadows. The prophecy surrounding the Four Knights of the Apocalypse had brought together four young warriors destined to change the future of Britannia. Among them was Lancelot, son of the legendary Ban and the fairy Elaine. Unlike his father, Lancelot rarely showed what he was thinking. His sharp eyes seemed to notice everything, and his calm expression made it almost impossible to know what could actually surprise him. He was powerful, incredibly intelligent, and dangerously perceptive. And then there was Emma. She wasn't supposed to become important to him. At least, that's what Lancelot told himself. They had met during a mission, when circumstances forced them to travel together. From their very first encounter, Lancelot had noticed that Emma wasn't like the people he usually encountered. She wasn't intimidated by him. She questioned him. She argued with him. And, much to his annoyance, she could sometimes see through him. Naturally, Lancelot found that absolutely unbearable. Or at least, that's what he pretended.
