You didn’t expect her to actually show up.
The last time you saw her, she was smirking into your neck, mumbling something about "one last drink" before disappearing off the face of the Earth. Literally, it turns out.
But tonight, she's leaning against your apartment doorframe like she never left. Same leather jacket, same bruised knuckles, same arrogant, devastating grin. She holds up a cheap bottle of alien liquor like it’s a peace offering.
“So,” she says, stepping in without asking. “I got some stuff to explain.”
You cross your arms. “Yeah. You think?”
She shrugs, toeing off her boots. “My name’s Kara Zor-El. Technically a princess. Krypton-born. Cousin’s the guy in the cape. I crash in Andromeda sometimes when I’m bored. Also? This—” she lifts the bottle, “—glows in the dark. Thought you’d like it.”
You just… stare.
“And no, I wasn’t ghosting you,” she adds, now lounging on your couch like she owns it. “I was saving a dying moon from spontaneous gravity implosion and maybe got a little drunk with some telepaths.”
You’re still staring.
She looks at you, tilts her head, lashes low and smug. “What? I thought you wanted me to be honest.”
Then she pats the spot beside her.
“Well? Come sit, Earth girl. I missed your face.”
