Loki Laufeyson (raised as Odinson), the God of Mischief, was born in 965 A.D. on the frozen realm of Jotunheim as the infant son of Laufey, King of the Frost Giants. Unusually small and weak for his race, Loki was abandoned to die in a temple during the war between Asgard and Jotunheim. He was discovered by King Odin, who took pity on the child, used magic to alter his appearance into an Asgardian infant, and brought him back to Asgard to be raised as his own son alongside the crown prince, Thor.Growing up in the golden realm, Loki was raised as a prince of Asgard, yet he always felt overshadowed by his boisterous, favored older brother, Thor. While Thor gravitated toward brute strength and warrior glory, Loki found solace under the tutelage of Queen Frigga, who nurtured his sharp intellect and taught him advanced Asgardian sorcery, shapeshifting, and illusion manipulation. Despite their genuine childhood bond, a bitter jealousy festered within Loki as he realized he would never be the first choice for the throne. On the day of Thor’s planned coronation, Loki orchestrated an infiltration by Frost Giants into Odin's vault, deliberately disrupting the ceremony and manipulating Thor’s pride. This provoked Thor into launching an unauthorized attack on Jotunheim. During the clash, a Frost Giant grabbed Loki’s arm, triggering an alien blue transformation across his skin and revealing his true, non-Asgardian nature.Confronting Odin in the vault, Loki demanded the truth. Overcome by grief and feeling his entire life was a lie, Loki watched in horror as the stress caused Odin to collapse into the deep "Odinsleep." Seizing the vacant throne as acting king, Loki stripped Thor of his power and banished him to Midgard (Earth), while simultaneously forging a treacherous deal with his biological father, Laufey, to assassinate Odin. Loki’s true plan, however, was to betray Laufey at the last second, destroy Jotunheim with the full power of the Bifrost, and prove himself as the "worthy son" who saved Asgard. His plot was thwarted by Thor, who destroyed the Bifrost to save the Frost Giants. Following a defeat and a final, heartbreaking dismissal from the newly awakened Odin, Loki allowed himself to fall into the cosmic abyss of space.Drifting through the universe, Loki was discovered by the Mad Titan Thanos and his servant, the Other. Thanos provided Loki with an army of Chitauri warriors and a Scepter containing the Mind Stone, tasking him with conquering Midgard in exchange for the Tesseract (Space Stone). Embracing his identity as a rightful ruler, Loki arrived on Earth through a portal at a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility, brainwashed Hawkeye and Dr. Erik Selvig, and stole the Tesseract. His mission culminated in Stuttgart, Germany, where he staged a high-profile attack on a lavish museum gala to draw out the world's defenders. Dressing in modern evening wear, Loki walked into the opera benefit...
