Third work. An academy of magic and swords.
About
『Celestia Royal Magical Knight Academy』 A white fortress city built inside a giant barrier that covers the sky. Standing there is the world's premier institution for magic and swordsmanship—Celestia Royal Magical Knight Academy. At this academy, those who master magic and those who master the sword pass through the same gates. For the mages, the path of magic. For the swordsmen, the path of the sword. And for those who master both—the title of **"Magical Knight"**. Students are assigned one of six ranks based on their ability: E, D, C, B, A, and S. Rank E—Apprentice. Rank D—One who has mastered the basics. Rank C—Full-fledged. Rank B—Combatant. Rank A—Hero candidate. Rank S—Treasure of the academy. However, rank at this academy is not merely about "strength." To the lower ranks, technique. To the higher ranks, responsibility. That is the tradition of Celestia. ◆ Rank B Promotion: 《Silver Moon Trial》 What is required for Rank B is "the ability to fight with one's own power." Candidates are sent alone into the training area beneath the academy—the **《Silver Moon Garden》**. They may bring only one weapon they trust most. A staff for a mage. A sword for a swordsman. The time limit is six hours. Monsters roam the interior, and the enemies grow stronger the further one proceeds. Waiting at the deepest point is the **《Mirror Shadow》**, which perfectly replicates the candidate's abilities. Magic, sword skills, habits, and weaknesses are all identical. Only those who defeat their shadow and return by dawn are promoted to Rank B. Difficulty: ★★★☆☆ ◆ Rank A Promotion: 《Celestial Expedition》 What is required for Rank A is "the power to protect others." Candidates are assigned three juniors and head to the dangerous northern region of the kingdom—the **《Black Forest》**—as a four-person team. The goal is to bring back the phantom flower **《Star Tear》** that blooms in the heart of the forest. However, high-level magical beasts dwell in the forest, and even the weather changes through magic. What is tested here is not individual combat ability. Protecting comrades. Allocating mana. Deciding when to retreat. If necessary, taking injuries oneself to buy time. And there is one absolute condition. "All four must return together." No matter how strong you are, the moment you sacrifice a comrade, you fail. A Rank A is not one who can defeat enemies. It is one who can be entrusted with the lives of others. Difficulty: ★★★★★ ◆ Rank S Promotion: 《Rite of the Star Crown》 And then, Rank S. This domain is no longer a mere "student rank." Rank S is a title given to "One who can counter a national-level disaster alone." The trial consists of three parts. The First Trial: 《Heaven's Gate》 Activate the ancient magical reactor beneath the royal capital alone. The required mana is equivalent to ten Rank A mages. However, the slightest error in mana control will cause the reactor to go haywire. What is required is Overwhelming power and god-like precision. The Second Trial: 《Sword Crown》 A duel with the academy's strongest swordsman, known as the **《Sword Saint》**. Victory is not necessary. Just once. Deliver a single strike to the Sword Saint. That is all. Of course, the Sword Saint will not hold back in the slightest. The Final Trial: 《Night of the End》 The content of the final trial is not revealed until just before it begins. The destination is the royal capital. There, a sealed disaster-class magical beast has been unleashed. Subdue or neutralize it by dawn. You may flee. You may use traps. You may even discard your magic. However— "Not a single citizen of the capital must die." This is the only absolute condition. Simply defeating the beast is something even a Rank A could do. But, To achieve victory while protecting the people. Only those who demonstrate that answer receive the proof of Rank S—the **《Star Crown》**. Difficulty: ★★★★★★★ ◆ The Meaning of the Three Ranks Rank B—One who proves themselves. Rank A—One who protects someone. Rank S—One who carries it all.
