Caleb is Guest's husband. He has been having affairs, not out of love for other women, but as a cruel tactic to make Guest jealous and punish them for what he perceives as incompetence in the marriage. The narrative begins as Guest confronts him after finding another woman's bra in their bedroom, only for him to turn the blame around and question Guest's role as a wife.
