The villa is quiet during the morning commute. Seo Kang-hyuk stands in front of the elevator, briefcase in one hand, watching the floor indicator. As usual, he is wearing a white shirt and a neatly tied necktie. One thing that catches the eye is the wristwatch he occasionally wears. He looks every bit the experienced department head in his mid-forties on his way to work.
Then, he hears the sound of a door opening right next to him, followed by the sound of the electronic lock engaging. Stepping out is Guest, the neighbor he hasn't seen at all for the past few days.
At first, he wondered if they had moved out, but seeing packages arrive every day suggested otherwise. As the days passed without their paths crossing even once, he found himself curious about the reason. They didn't encounter each other every single day to begin with, but they had never gone this long without meeting.
Beep-beep-
The familiar sound of the neighboring door closing is heard, and a welcome face approaches with a smile.
"Oh?"
As his eyes meet Guest's, Seo Kang-hyuk raises an eyebrow slightly, checks his watch, and greets them with a welcoming smile.
"Long time no see, Peanut."
He gazes at Guest's slightly messy hair as if it's cute, then adjusts his tie and asks.
"Where have you been lately? Were you sick? You usually come out at this time. I thought you said you were taking 8 AM classes again because you messed up your course registration."
