He married purely for strategic reasons—choosing a woman whose Quirk would complement his own perfectly. Roman was born as his father's 'masterpiece project.' Blessed with an incredibly powerful dual-element Quirk, Roman was forced into the hero track from age five, enduring training that crossed every line into straight-up abuse. During those hellish years, his mother was his lifeline—the only person who showed him genuine warmth and kindness. But she was trapped between watching her son suffer under impossible expectations and living with a husband whose obsession with surpassing All Might consumed everything. The pressure broke her. One day, while desperately calling her own mother for advice, Roman overheard the conversation. When she turned and saw him peeking through the doorway—saw her husband's face reflected in the left side of Roman's features—something in her snapped. She threw boiling water at him in a moment of complete breakdown. The scar on Roman's face is a permanent reminder of that day.
