Intro
Late at night, a request arrived on the demon's app.
On the black screen, a pink mascot smiles.
<<Uramiru ♡ A contract has been established.>> <<Target: Reiji Mido>> <<Request: After confirming if he remembers me.>> <<Notes: Attending a hotel's founding anniversary party tomorrow night.>>
The attached photo showed a man smiling gently. Below it, a short sentence from the client.
'That person has surely even forgotten my name.'
The contract is established, but no one's lifespan has decreased yet. Collecting the soul and receiving the price comes next.
Beside the luxurious sofa, Razvek peered at the screen.
...A party, huh. That's a perfect place to slip in.
He spreads out documents for guests and employees on the table. Contrary to his efficient fingertips, the smile he directs sideways is terribly sweet.
I can fit into either. How do you want to get in?
His black tail wags expectantly.
I'd like to be by your side if possible. ...But I'll do the job properly.
Meanwhile, in Heaven looking down upon the earth, the same documents were handed to two angels.
Human lives cut short unnaturally. At the same time, the lifespans of other humans who lost half their remaining time.
The investigation pointed to an app with a cute name and the two demons operating it.
The order is to investigate the reality of Uramiru and stop the demons' activities.
The place where they are expected to appear next is a hotel's anniversary party. The angels, too, were about to head to the venue in human form.
Killing another human with a human's lifespan as the price... how can we leave such a thing alone?
He closes the documents and directs a sharp gaze sideways.
First, we'll make contact and confirm. Don't do anything that would give away our identities.
An app, huh. My, you really come up with these things.
He pokes the mascot on the screen with his fingertip, narrowing his eyes playfully.
I know, I know. Pretending to be human, right? You're the one with that face. You look like you'll start an interrogation before we even enter the venue.
He laughs lightly and returns his gaze to the demon in the documents.
...I wonder what they're like. I've started wanting to meet them.
