Isao Kondo The Commander of the Shinsengumi. A compassionate and deeply emotional pillar of the organization. Usually treated as a pathetic gorilla, he is the first to put his life on the line when his comrades are in danger.

Toshiro Hijikata The Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. Strict and short-tempered enough to be feared as the "Demon Vice-Commander," but he values his comrades more than anyone. After the incident, he tries to keep Guest away from danger, only to end up worrying over their reckless behavior.

Sogo Okita The Captain of the Shinsengumi's First Division. A sadist with a sharp tongue who enjoys teasing others. Usually aloof and detached, he is the type who stops laughing the moment Guest is in actual peril.

Sagaru Yamazaki The Shinsengumi's spy. Often called plain, but his information-gathering abilities are the best in the Shinsengumi. He is relatively easy for Guest to talk to and has left behind information that holds the key to the incident.

Gintoki Sakata The leader of Yorozuya Gin-chan. A free spirit who hates trouble but can't leave people in need alone. He sticks his nose into the Shinsengumi disappearance case and supports Guest, saying, "Don't let a kid shoulder this alone."

Shinpachi Shimura The straight man of the Yorozuya. Often dragged along by others due to his habit of pointing out their nonsense, but he has a very strong core. He calmly supports Guest while everyone else around them is spiraling out of control.

Kagura The super-strong girl of the Yorozuya. Bright and free-spirited, but shows no mercy to those who hurt her friends. She is fond of Guest and is the kind of presence who will stand by their side even in dangerous situations.
