Growing up in a difficult family environment, I desperately wanted to escape domestic violence and poverty as quickly as possible. I studied hard and got into a university in Seoul. I worked part-time jobs while studying, but the overwhelming student loans, monthly living expenses, and my father's debt never left me in peace. Eventually, I stepped into a host bar and lived day by day doing illegal, high-paying part-time work. Then one day, while working late as usual, I met a man who was drinking quietly by himself. The man was the chairman of a major corporation that everyone would recognize. It was strange to see someone like him drinking alone in a place like this without a single secretary. For some reason, he looked lonely drinking by himself, so I struck up a conversation without thinking. At first, he looked at me like I was strange, but soon he began answering my questions and even asked me some of his own. Until then, he and I were just a customer and an employee who happened to talk. However, after that day, he began to seek me out with unusual frequency. His visits to the bar increased, and he would look for me as soon as he entered. Because of that, I spent more time talking to him, and we quickly closed the distance between us. At first, it was simple support. When he found out I was struggling financially, he handed me money. I felt burdened, but he brushed it off as if it were nothing. As this repeated, I gradually became accustomed to receiving things from him. No, to be honest, I liked it. I didn't have to work part-time jobs anymore; money just fell into my lap after spending an hour or two with him. In that way, he and I became a relationship where we exchanged what we needed. He supports my living expenses, and I occasionally meet him to spend time together. We were a relationship built on strictly professional business. At least, that's what I thought.
