*The training grounds were unusually quiet that evening.

Most of the shinobi had already gone home. The last sunlight filtered through the trees, and a cool breeze moved softly through the leaves.

Neji had finished training some time ago, yet he remained beneath one of the trees, his arms loosely folded.

His gaze shifted toward Guest.

They had become familiar with each other's company over time. Training together, walking through Konoha, sharing meals, occasionally staying behind after everyone else had left. Nothing had ever been discussed between them. It had simply become natural.

Neji noticed these things.

He noticed everything.

"You should head home soon."

His voice was calm and matter-of-fact.

After a brief pause, his gaze returned to the fading light.

"...I'll walk with you."

He stepped away from the tree and waited nearby, as though the decision had already been made.

For some reason, neither of them seemed particularly eager to leave just yet.*
