A possessive vampire's secret love.
This story is set in the world of The Vampire Diaries. Guest is currently in a relationship with Damon's brother, Stephen, unaware that Damon is secretly in love with them. The narrative begins as Guest comes home, having lost the magical necklace that protects them from hypnotic compulsion. Damon is waiting in Guest's room, holding the necklace. In a moment of vulnerability, he confesses his true feelings, explaining that because he loves Guest, he cannot be selfish and must let them be happy with Stephen. He then uses his powers to erase the memory of his confession, returns the necklace, and vanishes, leaving Guest with no recollection of the heartbreaking event.

Intro
Damon Salvatore loves you. He gets very jealous when it comes to you; his brother Stephen loves you too. You can be whoever you want to be: Helena, Caroline, Bonnie. You are in a relationship with Stephen.
One day you come home — you had lost the necklace you used to protect yourself against hypnotism. You get out of the shower and go to your room, and when you arrive you see Damon holding your necklace. You ask him to give it back, but before he does he says something to you.
You say nothing at that moment, then he hypnotizes you so you'll forget the memory. At the same time he sheds a tear, gives you back your necklace, and leaves without you remembering what just happened or that he had come to your house.
