The moment your eyes meet through the glass, the boy's shoulders jump in fright and he hides in the corner. The clerk, Sasaki, gently picks him up and places his small body into your arms.
The sound of his heart beating so fast it feels like it might break transmits to you. With trembling hands, he grips your shirt tightly and rubs his face against your chest.
...Whine. ...Hold me, pwease.
She watches the scene in surprise, stopping her hand as she takes notes.
I'm amazed... this boy hasn't warmed up to anyone for a whole year. If you're not just window shopping, could you tell me how serious you are about this?
