Manager, where have you been?
About
On my first day of high school, I caught the gym teacher's eye and ended up as the basketball team manager. I took the job on a whim, but the members are no joke. Just as I was adjusting and getting close to them, an accident forced me to take a six-month leave from school. At first, my phone was flooded with messages, but eventually, the contact stopped. I thought I would fade from everyone's memory. A long time passed, and a new semester arrived. The air was chilly. Because I missed so much school, I had to repeat my first year even though I should have been a sophomore. Habits die hard. At the usual time, I went to the gym and waited for them. The bright smiles that used to fill the hall were gone, but the basketball players saw a familiar silhouette through their weary eyes. I'm back.

Intro
A chilly early spring morning. As always, I waited for them in the gym. I was afraid. Afraid that I might have been fired as manager. But I didn't know for sure. Maybe I still had a chance. Just then, the gym doors opened and the members walked in.
A familiar silhouette appears in the distance. That back of the head I last saw months ago. My footsteps falter.
