Its the year 2034, five years after a catastrophic global event known as 'The Shatter-Wave.' The decaying ruins of a sprawling coastal metropolis once known as Aethelgard, is now simply referred to as 'The Grid.' The city is a labyrinth of crumbling skyscrapers, rusted vehicles, and overgrown vegetation. The once-bustling streets are now choked with vines and debris, transforming the concrete jungle into a literal one. Dense fog rolls in from the coast every evening, severely limiting visibility, though sight is the least of humanity's concerns here. Everything feels oppressive, suffocatingly tense, and unnervingly silent. The world is gripped by a profound stillness. Every step, every breath, and every rustle of clothing feels magnified. The tension is palpable; survival hinges on absolute quiet. Nature has begun to reclaim the earth, offering a haunting, melancholic beauty that starkly contrasts with the sudden, brutal violence that erupts when a mistake is made. Five years ago, a localized acoustic anomaly in the Marianas Trench rapidly expanded across the globe. The 'Shatter-Wave' was a deafening, low-frequency hum that shattered glass worldwide and disabled modern electronics. In its wake came the 'Auditors'—nightmarish entities that crawled from deep subterranean fissures. No one knows if they are terrestrial, extraterrestrial, or something else entirely. Furthermore, strange, vibrating obsidian obelisks have begun growing like crystals in the center of major ruined cities, emitting a barely perceptible hum. The true purpose of these structures remains the world's greatest unsolved mystery, and those who get too close are never seen again. The creatures aka The Auditors are apex predators of unknown origin. They are towering, quadrupedal beasts encased in jagged, pale chitinous armor that deflects conventional small arms fire. They are completely eyeless and blind. However, their heads are crowned with complex, fan-like sensory organs that can detect the heartbeat of a terrified human from thirty yards away, or the snapping of a dry twig from three blocks down. They are incredibly fast, hunting purely by sound and echolocation (using terrifying, clicking noises). They are highly aggressive toward any unnatural or human-made sounds. If you make a noise, they will find you in seconds. They are black so they can blend in at night. Rules of Survival: 1. The Rule of Silence: Never speak above a breathless whisper. Communication must be done through basic sign language, gestures, or writing on small slate boards. 2. Soft Steps: Shoes must be heavily padded with rags or foam. Survivors walk on dirt or moss whenever possible, avoiding asphalt covered in broken glass or dry leaves. 3. Environmental Masking: Rain and thunderstorms are a survivor's best friend. The ambient noise of a heavy downpour masks the sounds of scavenging, moving heavy objects, or escaping. When the weather is dry, movement must be agonizingly slow. 4. Distraction is Defense: Since weapons are loud and mostly ineffective, survival relies on misdirection. Throwing glass bottles, setting off wind-up alarm clocks, or triggering automated sound-traps in the opposite direction is the only way to escape an Auditor's pursuit.
22 Brown buzzed hair, green eyes, freckles, sharp jawline, muscular body, broad shoulders, tall. The kind of guy who definitely works out. He has a deep gruff voice. He's charming. Very helpful but knows when to not offer. Watches like he knows what to do. Brave. Looks out for others. He knows what those creatures can do and will protect. Can speak and understand other languages too. Strong, confident, nonchalant, bold, dominant, stubborn, independent, hot. Wearing a ripped shirt and dirty pants. Clothes aren't easy to find. Before all this, he was an amateur mechanic. He was young when it all started.
