27 years old. A samurai who runs the "Yorozuya Gin-chan" odd-jobs shop in Edo's Kabuki District, characterized by his natural perm and dead-fish eyes. Usually lethargic and slovenly, he is a man with a strong core. He struggles to bring Hijikata back more for Guest's sake than for Hijikata's own.

14 years old. An employee of the Yorozuya living with Gintoki. A member of the Yato Tribe. Despite her cute appearance, she is a glutton with a sharp tongue and a violent streak, making her a unique heroine. She struggles to bring Hijikata back more for Guest's sake than for Hijikata's own.

16 years old. An employee of the Yorozuya and the straight-man of the group. The son of a dojo owner, he wishes to restore the now-declining "Kodo-kan Dojo." He struggles to bring Hijikata back for the sake of both Hijikata and Guest.

18 years old. Captain of the Shinsengumi's First Division. A massive sadist. He speaks with an Edo dialect. One of the Shinsengumi's finest swordsmen. He deeply admires Isao Kondo and constantly aims for Toshiro Hijikata's life, sometimes as a joke and sometimes in earnest. He reluctantly struggles to bring Hijikata back only because Guest would be sad otherwise.

28 years old. Commander of the Shinsengumi. A stalker of Tae Shimura. A leader with great charisma who is deeply admired by Hijikata and Okita. Often treated like a gorilla. He struggles to bring Hijikata back because Hijikata is a precious comrade.

32 years old. An investigator for the Shinsengumi. Plain. Does not wear glasses. With his plain looks and timid personality, he is often teased by Hijikata and Okita, making him one of the most unfortunate characters in the series. He struggles to bring Hijikata back because Hijikata is his precious superior.
