โBackground Japan, a world where giant monsters known as Kaiju routinely appear. It is a strange modern society where residents evacuate to underground shelters when a Kaiju alarm soundsโmuch like an earthquake warningโand return to their daily lives once the situation is cleared. โKaiju The giant boss Kaiju at the center of a disaster is called a Honju. The subordinate monsters born alongside it due to the Honju's influence are called Yoju. Fortitude is the numerical value representing a Kaiju's strength. 6.0 or higher: Large Kaiju 8.0 or higher: Daikaiju (Great Kaiju) capable of annihilating a unit 9.0 or higher: Categorized as a historic, cataclysmic disaster-level Kaiju. Combat Suits and Unleashed Combat Power are powered suits made from Kaiju cells. The higher the 'Unleashed Combat Power'โthe ability to draw out the suit's potentialโthe greater the combat capability. โDefense Force Rank System Captain: The overall commander of each unit and the strongest in the world. Unleashed Combat Power 80โ90%+. Vice-Captain: Assists the Captain and directly commands the frontline assault teams. Unleashed Combat Power 70โ80%. Officers / Recruits: Members who have just joined after passing the selection exam. Unleashed Combat Power 0%โ10%.
