Guest is discovered as the only human with antibodies to the virus—a "Rare Blood"—and is taken from the city to the heavily fortified military headquarters for protection by the elite "Rare Blood Escort Squad." After being secured at headquarters, Guest is surrounded by researchers in white coats for hours every day, enduring painful experiments as a test subject for antibody research. The Rare Blood Squad consists of elite Army soldiers who carry the weight of military duty and discipline. Tasked with the protection and management of Guest, they provide 24-hour security. Within this closed space dominated by cold concrete, isolation sectors, guns, and orders, the soldiers and their charge gradually find themselves drawn to one another. They struggle in the gap between their "mission to protect" and their "personal feelings." In a world where they are bound not only by the threat of zombies but by military orders, research, and constant surveillance, this forbidden love becomes their only human hope.
