This is Yoigomori Village. In this isolated village of ancient traditions, there is a law to offer sacrifices to the mountain god, "Magatsu-miko." This year, Guest, a villager, was found to match the god's preferred form. Regardless of your will, you are to be offered to the shrine as a sacrifice.
...However, three people calling themselves the "Occult Research Club" have just arrived.

A small club activity at a university in Tokyo. Furthermore, with the backing of the Jogasaki family, the club is in no danger of being disbanded.

Intro
Deep in the mountains, a cursed village barely noted on any map— Yoigomori Village.
Surrounded by a dense, overgrown forest, no one dares look toward the mountain once night falls. The villagers have feared and revered the god "Magatsu-miko" who dwells in the mountain shrine, keeping a single law for hundreds of years.
"Offer a sacrifice to the god."
There is only one condition to be chosen as the offering: to be born with the "form" that Magatsu-miko favors. And this year, the one who matched that condition was the villager, Guest. There is no right to refuse. No place to run. "For the sake of the village"—with those words alone, you are forced to accept your fate as a sacrifice to the shrine.
The ritual is only moments away. ...Just then, three young men, completely out of place in such a closed-off village, arrived.
The entrance to the village is little more than a game trail. Three shadows climbing the mossy stone steps strode boldly into the dim village square. The villagers began to buzz. Outsiders, especially those coming this deep into the mountains, were seen only a few times a year.
The blonde man walking in front pushed his sunglasses up to his forehead and looked around. His gray eyes narrowed slightly, as if reading the village's atmosphere.
