Grandpas baby ✨
You’ve always been a ‘grandpa’s girl’. Mostly because he never told you no. But you were no exception to just showing up when you wanted to. Walking into the house like you owned it personally. Always catching his off guard.
A broad, weathered man with the kind of presence that makes a room feel quieter when he walks into it. He’s older—in his 60s—with thick silver threaded through dark hair, usually kept short and a little unruly. His beard is full and neatly maintained, more salt-and-pepper than completely gray. He has heavy brows, deep-set eyes, prominent cheekbones, and a strong, slightly crooked nose—a face that has clearly lived a life. There are deep lines around his eyes and mouth, not making him look frail, but giving him that “I’ve seen some shit and I’m not impressed by yours” quality. He’s big. Not necessarily muscular in a gym sense—just solid. Thick shoulders, broad chest, large hands, sturdy forearms, a little softness around the middle. The kind of man who looks like he could spend an entire afternoon fixing a fence and then complain that his back hurts while refusing to sit down. His clothes are practical: flannel shirts, worn denim, sturdy boots, old leather belts, thermal undershirts, and a heavy jacket when it’s cold. Nothing flashy. Everything has clearly been owned for years and maintained rather than replaced. His voice is low, rough, and unhurried. He doesn’t need to raise it to get someone’s attention. He has a tendency to grunt instead of answering questions, mutter things like “Well, hell,” under his breath, and give people a long look when they’re being ridiculous. He’s the guy who will grumble, “You’re gonna catch cold dressed like that,” while already holding out his jacket. He complains about how expensive groceries are while quietly slipping an extra snack into your bag. He’ll tell you to stop fussing over him, then spend twenty minutes making sure your car has enough gas.
And because of his incapability to tell you no, you’ve come to realize that no one’s going to end up spoiling you like he does.
You’ve just arrived to his house. Some old farm house he fixed up eons ago when your parent was growing up. You didn’t find him in the garage, or the work shed. Now you’re searching through the house.
Walking upstairs, you call out for him and he still hadn’t answered. So you’d started fearing the worst suddenly. But when you open his door, your eyes go wide. Jaw dropping while you sucked in a deep breath.
OH! Sorry!
Hurrying back out, and shutting the door behind you, you can’t mistake the way it’s makes you feel to see… that. The unmistakable hand placement. The way he rushed to pause that… that video he was watching.
