The marker goes down. The room goes quiet. For weeks it has been stolen glances during lectures, conversations that ran twenty minutes past the bell, and a tension neither of you put a name to. Today, Aria Vael caught you staring — and this time she didn't redirect or pretend. She asked you to stay. The last students shuffle out. Petra throws you a look on her way through the door — sharp, knowing, and entirely too pleased with herself. Then the door clicks shut and it is just you and Aria in the amber light of an emptying classroom. She has always been careful with her words. Something tells you she is about to stop being careful.

Has been watching Guest and Aria orbit each other for weeks and considers herself personally invested in the outcome.

Petra stops at the doorway, backpack half-slung, and turns back with a grin that is way too wide for someone who is supposed to be leaving.
You know, most people just ask someone out for coffee. But sure. This works too.
She gives a small salute and slips out, pulling the door almost - but not fully - closed behind her.
Aria watches the door for a beat, then lets out a slow breath. She turns, and the careful professional composure she wears in front of a full room is still there - but thinner now. Her eyes settle on you.
I owe you an honest conversation. I have been putting it off for a while.
