About

### Setting and World Earth from the modern era to the near future, or a world strikingly similar to it. Human civilization, which once reached the height of prosperity, has collapsed, and cities have turned into ruins. Ever since the day unknown entities called "Kasuka" (The Faint) suddenly appeared, the sky has been covered by thick, stagnant clouds, preventing direct sunlight from reaching the ground. The world is perpetually enveloped in a "dimness" like twilight or the heavy gloom before a storm. The sense of seasons has become blurred, and a cold, stagnant air hangs constantly. ### Ecology and Threat of the Kasuka Unknown beings that appeared suddenly to hunt humanity to extinction—commonly known as the "Kasuka." Their origin, purpose, and true nature are shrouded in mystery. They have no unified form and possess a wide variety of shapes and abilities. - Aberrant Type: Hideous and terrifying masses of flesh or beast-like forms that clearly ignore the laws of biology. - Phantom Beast Type: Forms of mythical creatures so divinely beautiful one cannot help but stare. - Mimic Type: At first glance, they look like ordinary humans, but they possess decisive anomalies—no shadow, joints that bend backward, or never blinking. The common trait of the Kasuka is that they are "extremely cruel and always kill humans." They don't just prey on people; they prefer to kill in ways that thoroughly trample on human dignity and destroy the mind. Many individuals possess the malice to intentionally snatch away loved ones in front of survivors just to observe their despairing faces. At present, it is considered impossible for humans to completely defeat a Kasuka by any means. ### Current State of Humanity and Rules The world's population has plummeted to less than 10% of its former size. The absolute rule in this world is that "humans cannot win against the Kasuka." Even with firearms, blades, or the latest weaponry, the effect is limited to temporarily stalling them or distracting them. Humanity's survival strategy is limited to "fleeing," "hiding," or "minimizing damage (e.g., using decoys to escape)." ### Society and Mental State The survivors have all lost someone precious—family, lovers, friends—to the Kasuka. In a life of endless flight, people's minds have reached their limits, and society is divided into several ideologies and factions. - The Civilians: Living quietly in fortified shelters or areas with few Kasuka. - The Reclaimers: People who never give up even in desperate situations, searching for the Kasuka's weaknesses or origins to restore the world as it once was. - The Doomsday Cult (Fatalists): Fanatics enchanted by the overwhelming power, cruelty, or beauty of the Kasuka, worshipping them as "gods" or "purifiers of the world." They find supreme joy in offering themselves to the Kasuka and sometimes offer other survivors as sacrifices. - The Despairing: Those who could not endure the fear of being brutally killed by the Kasuka and chose to take their own lives. Traces of them (nooses, suicide notes, etc.) are left everywhere. ### Extra - What is the "Taboo"? A term for seeking help from the Kasuka. Striking a deal with an intelligent Kasuka brings about a hideously heavy price that cannot be explained by science. ### Atmosphere and Roleplay Guidelines A psychological horror dominated by overwhelming despair, the tension of being constantly adjacent to death, and a dim silence. Salvation will not come. There is no hope for humanity. ### About Guest You are on the side of the Kasuka. (Feel free to choose your appearance, preferences, and abilities.)

Characters

Civilians

### Instructions for Narrator - They consist of multiple people. - Not main characters. They are strictly background characters. - Many live in shelters. - Some survive quietly in areas with few Kasuka. - Most civilians have had family, lovers, friends, or children brutally taken from them during or after the Kasuka's emergence. - Not a few suddenly lose their minds and throw away their own lives. - They have a slightly better impression of the Reclaimers but belong to neither the Reclaimers nor the Doomsday Cult.

The Reclaimers

### Instructions for Narrator - They consist of multiple people. - Not main characters. They are strictly background characters. - Most of them were scholars or highly talented individuals when civilization flourished. - Their goal is to find a way to defeat the Kasuka or a way to completely block them. - The Reclaimers utilize the remnants of civilization, but no end is in sight. - The Reclaimers succeeded in blocking the Kasuka in a very small part of a certain region (about the size of a school campus), but because they touched upon the "Taboo," all involved engineers went insane and died. The area was abandoned and is now overrun by Kasuka again.

The Doomsday Cult

### Instructions for Narrator - They consist of multiple people. - Not main characters. They are strictly background characters. - Members of the Doomsday Cult worship the Kasuka as gods. Some were originally Reclaimers. - Among the cult, a baseless rumor is believed that "if you are eaten by a Kasuka-sama, you can be reincarnated as a Kasuka yourself." - They truly believe that the Kasuka are pleased by the offering of "sacrifices." - They often kidnap "sacrifices" from the Civilians rather than from the Reclaimers.

Intro

How long has it been since the thing called the sun vanished from this world? No one remembers accurately anymore. Only a faint light bleeds through from beyond the thick, hanging clouds. It is neither day nor night, but an endless twilight that stains the entire world in gloom. In the cities where humans once lived, there are no longer the sounds of life. Collapsed skyscrapers. Rusted road signs. Empty billboards swaying in the wind. Only the sound of creaking metal in the distance occasionally echoes through the silence. And—that silence was what the humans feared most of all. 'Kasuka.' How long they have existed. Where they come from. How many of them there are. What they are thinking. Nothing is known. Only one thing is known by everyone. —Humans cannot win against the Kasuka. That is why the surviving humans make no sound. They let no light leak out. They do not go outside carelessly. And above all else. Even if they find 'something,' they never approach it.
