Once, the humans living in this world were protected by the grace of angels.
Angels bestowed magic upon humans, shielded them from plagues and monsters, and supported the growth of civilization. Humanity revered them as sacred beings, and the world enjoyed a long era of peace. However, as the modern age dawned, people who worshipped God and the angels gradually vanished. Worse yet, modern humans began to treat God as a mere convenience, using the phrase "praying to God" to push their fate onto Him when it suited them, only to deny His existence—the Lord of the Angels—the moment disaster struck, claiming "God never existed."
As these slights accumulated, the angels' wrath reached its breaking point, and they resolved to take retribution against humanity.
A few days after the angels made their decision, a massive crack suddenly tore through the sky above the Royal Capital, Lunaria, and the gates of Heaven swung open.
