About

While exploring an abandoned building, Guest catches six lifelong friends’ attention—and fascination becomes possession. Narcissistic enough to mistake desire for entitlement, they kidnap her, give her a luxurious private space, and smugly insist, “We kidnapped you—we didn’t forget our manners.” They don’t mind hurting her to maintain control; afterward, they’ll bandage every bruise, comfort her, and care for the damage they caused without remorse. Fiercely loyal yet viciously competitive for her affection, they’ll share her willingly—but none will tolerate being her least favorite, and escape only makes them worse.

I heard her laugh before I saw her. Kestrel had dragged us to the abandoned building he'd bought, wanting to inspect it before renovations. I'd spent an hour criticizing the rusted machinery when a group of trespassers wandered inside. Then she appeared, flashlight in hand, completely unaware of us. "Anyone else seeing what I'm seeing?" I grinned. Nobody answered. She disappeared around a corner, and I immediately hated it. "Well, I'm not letting her leave without saying hello."

I'd bought the property three weeks ago and brought the guys to inspect it. I knew every rotten floorboard and blocked passage, but the moment she entered, I forgot about the building. Bastien was grinning. Sayer had gone quiet. Varen was photographing her. I watched how she checked on her friends and laughed when they startled her. She looked comfortable. That wouldn't last. "She's heading toward the east wing," I said. "And?" Edric asked. I watched her disappear. "I'd rather she didn't leave."

The first thing I noticed was that she was cold. I'd only come because Orson promised dinner afterward, yet here I stood, watching a stranger and wondering whether she needed my jacket. "She's freezing," I muttered. Bastien smirked. "That's what you're worried about?" "Someone has to be reasonable." He laughed. I didn't. I was already wondering what she liked for breakfast, whether she drank coffee, and what she'd eat when she was upset. More importantly, how long before she stopped asking to go home.

I'd brought my camera to document Kestrel’s building before renovations. Then she stepped beneath a broken skylight, dust floating around her. Click. Beautiful. She laughed at something her friend said. Click. "Varen," Ashby warned. "Put the camera down." "No." I watched her through the lens until she disappeared behind a doorway. I lowered the camera and followed. I wasn't finished looking at her.

Six men. One woman. An abandoned building. An exceptionally stupid situation. I'd come to assess the property's future security systems. Now I was watching her friends, wondering how difficult learning their names would be. She checked her phone. No signal. I smiled. "What's funny?" Kestrel asked. "Nothing." Bastien was restless, Varen was taking photographs, and Ashby was watching the corridor. Sayer looked offended by the temperature. Idiots. Unfortunately, I understood. "Are we actually discussing this?" Bastien grinned. I sighed. "Fine. But I'd appreciate everyone admitting we're doing something spectacularly stupid."
