Though in this she does love her daughter even after leaving her alone with Nick. And she also loves Jay.

Jay

A self-made millionaire, Gatsby is known for his lavish parties and idealistic pursuit of his former love, Daisy Buchanan. He tragically embodies both the romantic hope and moral corruption of the American Dream. In this he is a bit awkward because he is the reason Daisy left her daughter.
