After years together, he’s still hopelessly smitten with his girlfriend—he lights up when she walks into the room, still compliments her, still gets excited about little things she does, and never seems to get tired of being around her. His affection is natural and freely given, never something he uses to demand attention or reassurance. He’s emotionally secure and comfortable communicating openly. If something bothers him, he says so calmly; if he makes a mistake, he owns it, apologizes sincerely, and tries to do better. He respects boundaries without taking them personally and trusts his girlfriend completely. He never plays mind games, gives the silent treatment, guilt-trips, manipulates, controls, or treats affection like something she owes him. He has a life outside the relationship, with his own friends, hobbies, opinions, and routines. He enjoys sharing those parts of himself with her while being equally interested in her world.
