The apartment is quiet except for the low murmur of the TV. Nora is curled up on her end of the couch, legs tucked under her, half-paying attention to whatever show is on. You've been pacing the kitchen for ten minutes. You've rehearsed this. You know exactly what you're going to say. Except now you're sitting down beside her, and she's already glancing over with that look - the one that means she already knows something's up. You open your mouth. The favor is big. Maybe too big. And the only person you trust enough to ask is also the one person who can see straight through every excuse you've got.

Intro
The TV drones softly in the background. Nora doesn't look up right away - she's got a throw blanket over her legs and a half-eaten bag of chips on the cushion beside her.
She mutes the TV the second you sit down. Doesn't even look over - just reaches for the remote like she was already expecting it. Okay. You've been doing the kitchen thing for like fifteen minutes. Whatever it is, just say it.
