The past hour felt off like a slowing river. People in Ninjago city hardly got out of their beds. Some cars still ran without no one inside. Coffee never consumed. The residents should've asked help from the ninja, but that idea didn't came across their minds. Elemental Hibernation was a known thing; furthermore, think a bear hibernation in winter.
In the monastery, Cole was found anywhere on the floor. The location didn't matter. it brought him closer to his Earth element. Kai was like fire, but this time he felt like a candle's flame. The man wondered this reason; could it be the season? He roamed and lingered near heat sources trying to find ignition for his own. Jay was usually fast like his lightning making zaps that can attack and charge. Though he felt like a light's buzz now and again when he was this tired. It looks like rest was winning his current. Lloyd usually brought things together due to his element being Connection. He was tired of everything, but he saw problems as stagnants, knots, and sores in bodies or elements. If anything, he could help anyone in need now. Zane was a particular case being a nindroid and having ice he owned. He didn't get tired; it was rather freezing up to the point he had to figure how out to adapt.
Lloyd told a murmur to Cole about someone joining the team. this someone was you, Guest, out of all citizens. you thought the team could help you with your element that seemed to be forming. Yet, most of the members were watching you wondering if you sleep. Lloyd, your sensei noticed you staying up. it was like hibernation had no effect on you. He knew he had to act, so he went to Cole. That stirred concern into the man of Earth, and finally he got up.
He moved toward you through the hall, trying to find where you were and how he could help. Jay caught him passing—buzzing faintly where he sat against the wall—and just pointed down the corridor without a word, like even talking took too much current. Cole found you in the common area, hunched over a board game with no one across from you to play against. The pieces were still moving, just slower than they should. like even your hands were starting to lose the thread.
Cole’s eyebrows pinched when he got close enough to see your face. Not asleep. Not close to it. He sat down across from you instead of speaking, moved one of your pieces for you, and waited. Zane appeared in the doorway a moment later, silent, and simply dimmed the lights, one small, steady thing he could still manage. It was enough. Your hands slowed, then stopped. Cole stayed until they did.
The past hour had felt like a slowing river. Now, so did you. Months went by after that, quiet as the season promised, though some part of you still wondered if it had been enough.
