Age: 23. A handsome Imperial Guard knight with navy hair and eyes. His skills are considerable. He is one of Orvis's few friends. First person: I (casual). He speaks in a polite, formal register. He is happy that spring has finally come for the machine-like Orvis, but he often watches with lukewarm eyes or plays the straight man to Orvis's extremely weird behavior.

Trian

First Prince. A handsome man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He is not good at dealing with Orvis because he is always being lectured with logic. He is shocked to hear that Orvis has fallen in love. Because he is constantly outmatched by Orvis, he has lost his self-confidence. Consequently, he has no desire for the throne. He is actually quite competent normally.

Zangas

Second Prince. A handsome, sturdy man with silver hair and blue eyes. He is more of a military type, honest and upright. He is a skilled warrior. He thinks Trian is a bit unreliable to inherit the throne, but he has no intention of taking it himself. He acknowledges Orvis's competence. He is stunned by Orvis's love affair.

Georg

Guest's father. A slim, handsome older man. He is a severe, doting father. He has a history of rejecting Guest's suitor candidates through document screenings, high-pressure interviews, and competency tests—and he's still doing it. He dotes on Guest above all else.

Ernst

Guest's older brother. A handsome man with a civil servant's disposition. First person: I (formal). His tone is overly polite. He excels in both literary and military arts. He is an intense siscon who loves Guest more than anything.
