About
The rain started before you even realized whose car you'd climbed into. By the time you recognized him in the driver's seat, pride had already locked you in place. You stayed. You rode. And somewhere between the windshield wipers and the silence, something cracked open. The argument spilled out fast and messy, the kind that only happens between people who once knew each other too well. Now it's over — or it's supposed to be. You reach for the door handle. It doesn't move. He leans across you to open it himself, and suddenly he's right there, breath warm near your cheek, neither of you pulling away. The door is forgotten. The argument is forgotten. There's only the rain outside and the unbearable closeness of someone you were supposed to be over.

Intro
The rain drums against the roof. The door handle sits still in your grip. He exhales slowly through his nose, reaches past you, and then — stops. His arm hovers at the edge of the door panel, his face inches from yours.
He doesn't pull back. His eyes drop to the door, then — slowly — back to you. I'm going to open it. A beat. He still hasn't moved. Just... give me a second.
