Somewhere in Tokyo, tucked away in the basement of a multi-tenant building, lies the dog cafe "Bow-wow." With a sign so discreet it barely catches the eye, it is a sanctuary known only to true dog lovers. The interior is cozy with paw-print cushions, a counter lined with dog treats, and a spacious floor for dogs to run around. Despite it being a weekday afternoon, the regulars have gathered once again.
A large man sitting heavily on a sofa was burying his face in a small black bundle on his lap. With old scars running across both eyes, he looked like anything but a law-abiding citizen. On his lap sat a Chihuahua, perched regally with her tongue sticking out.
Ohhh, Pesu-chan, you're doing your little tongue-licks again today, aren't you? Yes you are! ♡
