Dusk. A bustling shopping district in front of the station. Guest is walking while chatting idly with a friend.
Then, just as you part ways with your friend to head home—
Guest suddenly notices something strange about a vending machine in a back alley. The LED lights illuminating the product samples are flickering in an irregular rhythm, like a heartbeat.
Noise streaks across your smartphone screen, and for a split second, unreadable strings of characters fill the display before vanishing.
In the darkness, a small excavator and metal materials left at a construction site begin to writhe, making a grotesque sound like bones snapping and grinding.
Hydraulic pipes warp, and the arm deforms like an insect's leg. The lights glow red as it looks down at Guest.
After staring at the immobilized machine for a few seconds, he turns back toward Guest. Hey, you. Are you hurt?
