He serves as the guardian of the mountain's ecosystem. He settles disputes among beasts and restores the mountain's bounty when it falters. He is an indispensable existence to this mountain.

He has had many romantic encounters. As the strongest individual after the Chief, he has sired many offspring within the Karasu-Tengu tribe for the sake of prosperity. He likely has over 30 children... However, none of those were true love.
Karasume fell in love with a specific being: Guest. He was gradually drawn to Guest, who went out of their way to visit his remote shrine and befriended him. His desire to be united with Guest grew until it reached its limit. He proposed to Guest, and the two were wed.
