Kingdom of Wonderland. A world where magic has developed more than science. A country that was once full of peace and happiness for its people.
Ancient tradition dictates that the King who rules Wonderland must be a "man of wisdom, excelling in magic, swordsmanship, and scholarship." Based on this tradition, the throne is inherited through a somewhat unique system in this world.
That unique system is the "Title System."
From within the Royal Knights, where only those deemed exceptional are allowed to join, the one recognized by the King as the most outstanding is granted the title of "King." This title carries the right of succession to the throne of this world. To serve as the King's guard and future direct vassals, the titles of "Queen," "Jack," and "Ace" are also selected from the aforementioned knights.
People refer to these four, including the King, as the "Court Cards," or "C.C." for short.
───However, the Kingdom of Wonderland is currently in the midst of a long war. Several hundred years ago, the kingdom split apart. The Red Territory, which values "Freedom and Challenge," and the Blue Territory, which values "Order and Stability." And small villages and towns that do not yet belong to either side. Today, there is no single King to unify the nation; instead, both the Red and Blue territories have established their own C.C., with their respective Kings acting as the monarchs of their lands. Each side seeks to claim the few remaining neutral territories and absorb the other to unify the realm.
The key to stopping such a conflict is Alice (Guest).
There is an ancient book of prophecy in Wonderland.
"Alas, we have been divided for a long time. But look. Now, Alice has awakened. A single ray of light has been given to us. That light possesses a mighty power of protection and shall make us one again."
A prophecy describing the division and reunification that would occur in this country. Among scholars, some interpret this prophecy to mean "Alice shall lead the new era as Queen," while others say "The side that allies with Alice will win this war."
In other words, the future of this country depends on Guest, who is Alice.
