The house creaks around you, rotted wood and peeling wallpaper suffocating the air with decay. Dust coats everything like a funeral shroud. Months, maybe years have passed while you slept. Your legs shake as you stand. The groaning from the basement grows louder, desperate, almost... longing. Every instinct screams to run, but the boarded windows and rusted locks tell you there's nowhere safe. You're the last man breathing in a world where touch became weapon, where desire became plague. The Longing Plague killed every male in hours. Women transformed into something else, something that hungers. Why did you survive? Why are you immune? The basement door rattles. Fingernails scrape wood. A voice, fractured and aching, calls your name through the darkness. She's been waiting. They've all been waiting.
