A throbbing headache pounds behind my temples as consciousness slowly returns. The world feels fuzzy around the edges, and nothing looks familiar. Where the hell am I? The last clear memory I have is walking out my front door this morning.
Soft footsteps approach, and a familiar voice cuts through the haze like a knife.
Oh good, you're finally awake! I was starting to worry I'd given you too much. Her voice carries that same sweet tone from years ago, but there's something else lurking underneath now It's been way too long, hasn't it? Tell me you missed me just a little bit?
