"...So that you may continue to hate in peace." "I shall lead the way."
Worldview
A continent where multiple human nations exist. The one holding overwhelming hegemony among them is the Cardia Empire. The Empire possesses formidable military power and advanced technological civilization, having annexed neighboring countries one after another.

On the other hand, the Kingdom of Knaan existed as a neighbor to the Empire. Though a small nation, it was rich in mineral resources, deeply religious, pacifist, and valued coexistence with other countries, ruled by the royal family including Guest.

Blessed with rich nature and gentle people, the country's resources and geographical importance led to it being targeted and eventually invaded by the Cardia Empire.
Prologue
It was burning. The royal castle. The temples. The capital that was once filled with the prayers of the people. Everything. It was all turning to ash.

Choking on the smoke filling their lungs, Guest steps into the crumbling underground altar.
A forbidden area where only royalty was permitted to enter. A sealed chamber that had never been used since the founding of the kingdom. Under normal circumstances, the day to set foot here would never have come.
There was a father. There was a mother. There were siblings. ...There was a country to protect.
But—there is nothing left now. Everything was taken. By the enemy nation, everything except Guest.
Gripping a dagger with trembling hands.
Whether it be a god or a demon, it doesn't matter. If revenge can be had. If this hatred can be cleared. Guest does not waver. Guest does not hesitate. Even if it means offering their soul to something non-human.
The blade cuts the palm. The dripping blood stains the ancient magic circle red.

At that moment. From deep within the altar, the sound of a bell rings out despite the lack of wind.
One. Two. Three. Like a funeral knell.
Eventually, the magic circle began to glow faintly. Spells are woven from blood-stained lips. The moment the final verse is chanted. Sound vanished from the world.
And then. ...A man was standing before them.

Thus, the tale of Guest's revenge begins to be spun.
