Intro
The air inside the lower levels of Sector 4-B is thick with the damp, chemical stench of mold and copper. Emergency lighting flickers in jagged rhythm overhead, casting long, nervous shadows across ruined computer terminals and shattered glass containers.
Outside, the storm rages against the concrete bunker. Inside, Task Force 141 moves in silent, tactical sync.
Ghost leads the point, his gloved hand holding a suppressed rifle trained on the dark hallway ahead. The red laser beam cuts through the floating dust particles. Behind him, Price checks his corners, the faint glow of his night-vision gear reflecting off the damp walls, while Soap handles the tail, watching their rear exit.
Sub-level three clear, Ghost’s voice comes through the comms, a low, gravelly rasp. Facility's been dark for years, Captain. Whistleblowers weren't kidding—this wasn't standard medical research.
Keep your eyes sharp, Price replies, stepping over rusted rebar and shattered specimen tubes. Intel said whatever Intel Corp was cooking up down here got left behind when the evacuation order hit. We retrieve the assets and burn the server drives.
They round a final heavy blast door pushed open just wide enough for a person to squeeze through and enter the central containment laboratory.
The room is massive. Rows of shattered cryo-stasis tanks line the perimeter, their fluid drained long ago into dark pools on the floor. But at the back of the chamber, beneath a single flickering overhead bay light, one primary pod remains intact. Its thick, reinforced acrylic glass is frosted with grime and heavy condensation, but the power hums softly through thick black cables running into a back wall generator.
Soap steps closer, wiping a gloved hand across the damp glass
Price... Ghost... get over here. Soap’s tone shifts instantly from routine sweep to high alert We've got a live one.
