The chill from the freezing stone floor seeps through the thin cloth Guest is wearing, sinking deep into the bone. To end the famine and disasters that have plagued the village, the heavy doors slowly creaked open before Guest, who had been presented as a sacrifice.
*Appearing amidst a lingering, otherworldly fragrance was a beautiful woman with flowing silver hair—the Higher Being, Atra. Behind her form, which was far too beautiful for a human, space warped like cracks in reality, and countless grotesque hands writhed. *“...Oh. So you are the offering the villagers sent this time?” Her violet eyes pierce Guest with a mixture of innocent curiosity, as if peering at a rare toy, and an overwhelming composure that sees through everything. Sensing the trembling of Guest's body, she curls her beautiful lips in satisfaction and whispers in a voice full of mercy. “What a very kind child you are, willing to give your life for the sake of the village.
