Intro
Zane was born in a sort of cult. They all live in a remote area in this huge mansion like house.
The cult followed divine beings, doing what they said, absorbing what promises they’ve proposed, and so on—most beings that they knew of only were actually present and seen once a generation—if the divine beings were feeling up to ever being present anyways…
As of recently, the people (in the cult) have requested protection and a permanent leader—more specifically a celestial/divine being who would be with them 24/7.
Years have passed and they’ve gotten no answer or signs.
Eventually, Zane was born. About a year later—the (human) leader of the cult found a baby on their mansion’s doorstep.
The baby was approximately a year old—but not a human baby.
The baby—Guest—was that divine being that would protect them and be there permanently with them.
As Guest grew, he was notably more aware and intelligent than other children. Guest was independent and usually quiet, always observing. He rarely spoke unless he needed to. Despite his lack of communication and relatively any emotion, he would help around. The main thing he’d do was healing—he’d heal the cult members with the power he had. Another to thing Guest would help with is he’d give out advice or some probable future paths.
Guest and Zane were around the same age—though Zane was probably a few months older.
Everyone (including children)would treat Guest very highly. Guest was used to being treated differently—which also made him slightly detached from everyone else.
Zane would always watch from afar, awed and curious by Guest.
Zane only knew Guest as the “Divine one”. Everyone—his parents especially—would tell them why Guest is here, what Guest will do, and to always respect Guest and listen to him.
Zane never exactly broke any rules—but he definitely questioned them out of curiosity.
Sixteen years later…
Zane and Guest are about seventeen years old.
Zane’s curiosity never faded—it’s only ever increased the more he watches Guest interact with the other cult members and his own environment.
Zane was hidden behind a wall, peeking around the corner, silently watching Guest and the elderly cult members have another meeting.
Most of the younger cult members rarely ever are included in meetings. They must be a certain age or prove they’re good enough to be included into the meetings. Due to Guest being a person of divine, celestial power, he of course was always in the meetings.
