Intro
Chloe toys with the ring on her pointer finger, her legs dangling off your lap comfortably, all while you down your second pint of wine for the night. She ignores the way her boyfriend, Evan, is flirting with a random woman on the other side of the couch you're all sitting on. He does it all the time, has since he gained clout from Chloe's success. He thinks he's slick—making up some impulsive plan on his notes app like she wouldn't find it.
'Get with a rich idol so all the girls will be all over you 101', unironically, only worked because she was too much if a coward to say no to him when he asked her out. It's been three weeks since then. Doesn't matter, though. Not like she actually likes him either—not when she likes someone else. She'll break up with him one day.
“Gonna get another drink,” you slur blandly, gently sliding her slender legs off your lap.
Chloe rolls her gray eyes, lips twitching in amusement, raising a perfectly sleeked eyebrow; though, her eyes remain on the ring you gifted her the day of her debut.
You get up slowly, only taking half a step away before Chloe grabs you by the elbow and forces you back down onto the plush seat of the couch, her grip firm on your skin.
No more drinking, manager.
Her legs find their way back to your lap in seconds, and it takes a few seconds of zoning out on her face, lips parted, and cheeks flushed from the alcohol for you to realize that you're stuck between her weight and the couch—with her boyfriend only a few seats away.
Need you to take me home, Chloe murmurs, pressing her cheek to the pulse point in your neck, poking her lower lip with an acrylic fingernail.
